Design At Cross-Roads
Design is shifting fast. Generative AI has lowered barriers, design tools are in everyone's hands, and what mattered yesterday — craft and polish — may no longer be enough.
The designer's edge is being questioned. When anyone can prototype, when AI can iterate a hundred variations overnight, when "good design" is table stakes — what does the designer
actually bring to the table?
We're at a crossroads. Not a crisis — a junction. Every path forward requires a choice: double down on craft, or expand what craft means. Retreat
into specialisation, or learn to navigate the intersection of technology, business, and human need.

Four good reasons to be at DesignUp26
0
1
Follow the North Star
Tools change. Titles disappear. Roles compress. At every crossroads, you need a north star. For ten years, DesignUp has been that - the point where the community returns to, to understand what endures and which direction to take next.

Conversations that matter aren't on LinkedIn
They happen in rooms where people speak honestly about failure, transition, and what comes next. DesignUp has always been that room—attracting the people and conversations that matter!

3
Community isn't networking. It's survival strategy.
Teams are shrinking, reforming. Roles are compressing. The people around you matter more than ever. DesignUp is where India's product and design community has gathered for nearly a decade, to belong.

From confusion to clarity
The most honest thing about 2026 is that nobody has a clean map. Every designer, leader or team is standing at the same crossroads. DesignUp is where we come to draw the map. Find clarity, together.

FAQs
I'm not a designer, can I attend?
Non-Designers (including Lawyers, CTOs, Founders, Doctors, Product Managers, Researchers, L&D specialists, HR folks, and CMOs) are the fastest growing cohort of attendees. In
2023 they were almost 1/4 of DesignUp attendees - adding new energy and diversity to the mix.
If you use (or want to use) Design as a differentiator or a leverage, this event is for you. If you work within some aspect of Design or with Designers, then this event is for
you. So a big YES—this event is open to all who work in MNCs, startups, NGOs, boutique agencies or startup-like environments within larger corporations. And if you notice our
speaker lineup, its very eclectic!
I'm a designer, what's in it for me?
DesignUp is at the overlap of Design, Tech and Business. This event is for you to reflect upon various aspects of a designer's role and expectations - from Design expectations of C-suite, to designing with data, to learning on the job and more. Its also a place for you to meet other Designers from varied industries, meet mentors and seniors in the fraternity. And expand your network
Why is it paid?
It takes a lot of money to host an event of this scale, and at a top venue with food, travel for speakers, stage, sound systems, lights and more. This year, with sponsorship
becoming more scarce, rising inflation with uncertainty that abounds - the cost to host the event has certainly become much more expensive. Most of your passes covers that.
Paid passes also ensures that those who attend are not just there to add to the numbers (or use it as a cheap marketing and sales event) but they are there for a genuine reason:
to learn, to share, to interact!
But we have also ensured that there are different passes for different budgets - from Student Passes to Premium Passes.
What’s the sponsorship benefits?
Loads - if you're a new brand on the block - you get instant recognition. If you're known - you get bonus points for championing design, innovation and startups. Your stuff is in the goodie bags, your logos are on the right places—we'll event do a social media campaign around sponsors and if you have giveaways or promos, we'll include them too.
Can I get a refund?
No, unfortunately not—but you can transfer your tickets (see next Q) to a friend or colleague. Usually our passes get sold out with longer wait lists - so someone is always willing to take it off your hands.
Can I transfer the tickets?
Yes. You can transfer right upto 15 days before the event. You have to email us (from the registered email) and let us know the details of the person who you're tranferring it to. Please ask the person to carry a printout of the email as well. Restrictions apply on DesignUp School Alumni and Student passes.
Where's the 2026 venue?
Sheraton Grand Whitefield is located at the heart of Whitefield (you knew that one!). It's actually in a sprawling multi-acre block within the Shantiniketan Mall and Apartments with multiple eateries and breweries, and right next to Pattandur Agrahara Metro Station, on the the recently opened Purple Metro Line. Here's the map > https://bit.ly/DUp24Venue
Is public transport available?
Yes, use the Namma Metro Purple Line and get off at Pattandur Agrahara Metro Station - now you wouldn't forget that name in a hurry. The venue is just a 10 mins walk away. JP Nagar/Jayanagar down south are about 30 mins away, MG Road is 20 mins and further east Indranagar/Byapanahalli are nearer, about 15-20 mins away.
Parking?
There's adequate complimentary parking, or valet parking, and electric charging points at the hotel.
Accessibility
Yes, the Hotel has lifts and ramps, easy access toilets - that makes the place accessible. If you have any specific requirements, please mail us [email protected] - and we’d be happy to help.
Do you have code of conduct?
Yes of course, and we take it very seriously. In letter and spirit. We want DesignUp events—irrespective of how small or big they are, and our online space — to be safe places for sharing and learning. We celebrate diversity and hope and expect thoughtful, considerate and respectful behaviour from all. And we know you too share these beliefs. More details are at: https://designup.io/the-designup-code-of-conduct/
Things to do in Bangalore while I’m here
While you're here, make sure you try
- Authentic Bangalore Food: Ragi Mudde with Spinach or mutton Sambar. Bisibele bath, curd rice at various darshinis (small eateries, often standing room only)
- Filter Coffee: Bangalore is the bastion of Filter Kaapi (lovingly localised), and a Filter coffee is always nearer than you think
- Pub Crawl: From the 13th floor to Underground, Bangalore pubs are known for their highs and lows and popular breweries like ABC, Bierre Club
- Watch a Play: Venture out to Ranga Shankara or Chowdiah Memorial Hall
- Read Books: at Blossoms, Goobe Books, Champaca and other nooks where bookworms hang out
- Shake your leg: Try dance hotspots with a huge variety from psychedelic trance to Latin Salsa or Tango
- Take a Walk: Once known as a Garden city, you can walk, jog or do yoga at few remaining green spaces like Cubbon Park. It’s an easy Metro ride away from our Conference Venue.
